If you know me then you know that I’m OBSESSED with podcasts (especially any that involve the great Ben Bergeron) I was listening to one yesterday and he was talking about setting yourself up for success and what kind of person you want to be. I want you to think over a couple of things (provided below). These thoughts shared below really spoke to me and why I wanted to start the “Every Bodies Nutrition”.
Who are you?
What are your core values?
What do you stand for?
If you set a goal for yourself to make better nutrition choices then try to identify yourself as that person. For example, “I am the type of person who … (i.e. never misses a workout, chooses a salad over a pasta dish).” Who can you be? Regardless of the circumstances.
If you make better decisions that are on the trajectory of your goals you are more likely to make those decisions.
Also, consider vocalizing your goals to other people, especially the people you surround yourself with most. If you put that out to the world then people will think "Hilary is the type of person who doesn't eat cake". Then if I go to a birthday party and people are passing it around then they will say “don’t hand it to Hilary she doesn’t eat cake or Hil, no cake for you, right?” That helps make your decisions to pass on the cake even easier!! However, if you’re someone who always accepts the cake or someone who always gives up on goals then that is what defines the environment around you!
All you have to do is identify who you want to be and project that out to the world and tell people "THIS IS WHO I AM". Take accountability for yourself and your environment. When you enroll people in your life into your vision you are 10x more likely to hit that goal.
Don't ever forget your core values and what you stand for
XOXO
Hilary
